This Archery Instructor Certification prepares registered Girl Scout
volunteers to safely facilitate archery activities for Girl Scouts in
accordance with Girl Scout safety standards and council guidelines.
Participants will build a strong foundation in archery safety,
equipment basics, range setup, and instructional techniques
appropriate for Girl Scouts.
Volunteers must first
complete a 4-hour online archery training module prior to attending
the in-person session. The online component covers essential topics
including safety rules, equipment identification and care, range
commands, risk management, and age-appropriate instruction. Completion
of the online course is required before participating in the hands-on
training.
The in-person training focuses on practical
application, including proper range setup and breakdown, safe shooting
procedures, supervision techniques, and hands-on practice with archery
equipment. Participants will demonstrate safe shooting skills and
effective instruction methods to ensure a positive and secure
experience for all Girl Scouts.
Successful completion of
both the online and in-person components qualifies volunteers to
assist with or lead archery activities at approved Girl Scout camps
and events, following council policies.
