
Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council's Board of Directors is designed to ensure that members have a voice in the decision-influencing process of the council.
Beckett is a member of Steptoe and Johnson, PLLC and participates in the firm’s Environmental Practice Group, with over 30 years of experience practicing environment and energy law. She is active in sustainability policy development. Beckett participates in many industry trade groups and formerly served on the Board of Directors of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and chairs its Energy, Clean Air, Climate Change and Sustainability Committee. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce and chairs its environmental committee. She is a Fellow of the American College of Environmental Lawyers and serves on its Board of Regents. Kathy proudly serves as Chair to the Board of the Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council.
Tenney is the Director, Engineering Services WV/MD for First Energy. She has held various positions for over 35 years including operations, engineering, performance management, lines construction and maintenance, substation construction and warehouse management. She earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from WVU and a master’s degree in business administration from Waynesburg University. She and her husband Kevin raised three girls and currently have two dogs, Einstein and Gracie. She spent seven years as a Girl Scout Leader in Southwestern Pennsylvania and 11 years as a Leader or Assistant Leader in the Girl Scouts of Black Diamond and is a Lifetime Girl Scout member as well as a member of Troop 1912. Tenney also serves as an executive committee member for Women United in Monongalia and Preston Counties and is active in United Way activities and well as serving on the Visiting Committee for WVU College of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
A resident of Charleston, Walker is retired. He earned his B.S. in Finance from the University of Charleston, an M.B.A from the University of South Carolina and a J.D. from the West Virginia University College of Law. Mike spent his career in his family business, Cecil I. Walker Machinery Co., in a variety of positions in finance and product support. He left Walker Machinery as Executive Vice President when the company sold in 2010. He then practiced law with Bowles Rice in Morgantown, focusing on coal, oil and gas as well as commercial transactions before entering solo practice with Walker Law Group, PLLC where he practiced property law until retiring in 2016. He is an active member of the West Virginia State Bar and is admitted to practice in both the Northern and Southern United States District Courts in West Virginia. Mike is married to Beth Walker, who is a Justice on the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals. They have one daughter, Jennifer, who is an attorney in Houston.
Kirtland is the Learning Technology Senior Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers. She has previously worked for General Electric, SAP, Wolters Kluwer and Johnson & Johnson. She holds a B.S. from Ithaca College in Organizational Communication, Learning & Design and a M.S. from Lehigh University in Instructional Design & Development. She is an assistant leader and cookie chair for a Girl Scout Troop, and a Troop Mentor for her service unit. She also is a member of Kiwanis International. She is passionate about supporting STEM education for young girls. She has three children (daughters are Girl Scouts), a golden retriever named Anakin, and three cats.
Suppa-Todd began her career in Human Resources more than 25 years ago and currently serves as Director of Human Resources for HealthNet Aeromedical Services, Inc. She has spent most of her time in the nonprofit healthcare HR space, with nearly 20 years of service at Charleston Area Medical Center. Her work has touched all areas of HR practice, and she enjoys the areas of employee well-being and leadership development the most. Suppa-Todd earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Kentucky and a master’s degree in industrial/organizational psychology from Marshall University Graduate College. She became certified as a Professional in Human Resources in 2006. Suppa-Todd is a Lifetime Member of Girl Scouts and Member of the Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council Troop 1912. For 14 years, she served as Troop Leader for two very active groups of young women as they enjoyed their Girl Scout journey from kindergarten through their high school graduation. She and her husband, Daniel, now have two grown-up Girl Scouts and two dogs.
Brooke Anderson of Wheeling, WV is the Director of Marketing for the Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce.
Anderson has been with the Chamber since graduating from West Liberty University in December 2023, where she received a bachelor's degree in public relations and a minor in mathematics. During Anderson's time at West Liberty, she showcased her leadership abilities as a resident assistant for 5 semesters, earned recognition as an Elbin Scholar, consistently made the Dean's List, pioneered the establishment and coaching of the WLU dance team, and was honored as the Fall 2023 commencement student speaker.
Outside of working at the Chamber, Anderson is a dance instructor at Dynamic Dance Force in Wheeling, WV, helps manage social media accounts for local businesses, and enjoys volunteering for her church youth group and Easterseals Rehabilitation Center.
Anderson's dedication stems from her passion for fostering community growth, serving as a beacon of guidance for the youth in her region, and spreading positivity to all those she encounters.
Kristen Beverage, WV Recreational Economies Initiative Manager at Partner Community Capital, resides near Marlinton, WV, nestled deep within the Monongahela National Forest. Kristen's career includes her role as Business Advisor at the WV Women’s Business Center, serving as Executive Director at the Snowshoe Foundation, and experience at the US Forest Service where her passion for trail development and conservation was cultivated. She holds an MA in Applied Community Development and earned her undergraduate degree in Finance from WVU. She advocates for sustainable recreation and rural economic vitality. For leisure she enjoys hiking, trail running and enjoying nature with her partner Kurt and daughter Elsie.
In 2008, Nikki Bowman Mills, a West Virginia native, founded New South Media, Inc. and serves as president of the company. Her mission was to create high caliber publications that changed the perceptions of West Virginia by championing the state with positive stories. New South Media publishes WV Living, WV Weddings, and Morgantown magazines. The company also has a custom-content creation arm, through which it creates additional magazines, travel guides, books, e-newsletters, blog posts, and much more. Because of Nikki’s vision and leadership, what started as a regional publishing company has exponentially grown into a national multimedia company.
A consummate entrepreneur and champion of women, Nikki advocates for small business development, women and children, and entrepreneurship. Because of her efforts, Nikki was honored in 2024 as the Milan Puskar Entrepreneur of the Year from the Morgantown Area Partnership. In 2020, she received the WV Kids Count Economic Well-Being Champion of Children Award, and in 2019 she was given the West Virginia Hospitality and Tourism Association with the Excellence in Tourism Entrepreneurship Award. She was also chosen by SCORE as an American Small Business Champion. In 2016, Nikki was given the WV Excellence in Support of the Arts Award by the WV Division of Culture and History, and in 2015, she received a national award as a Top Woman in Media by Folio. In 2014, she was also honored with the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Women Business Champion Award. In addition, the West Virginia Division of Tourism has recognized Nikki and her company with multiple Star of the Industry awards.
Nikki lives in Morgantown with her husband Michael Mills, principal of the architecture firm Mills Group, and is a proud mother of two children and two stepchildren. She and her husband recently purchased 10 warehouses in Granville and named the development New South Square, which contains an event space called The Silo in the Square, a retail and restaurant called The F.A.R.M., and a bakery.
Karin Bright is currently serving as the president of the Athens County Food Pantry, an all-volunteer organization that has seen service increases nearly double in the past five years. She retired as a manager trainer in specialty retailing working with stores in Ohio, West Virginia, and Kentucky. In her role as ACFP president she has overseen the transformation of the organization from one with a $70,000 annual budget with limited resources to one that received over $650,000 in donations after a local football player (Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals) won the Heisman Trophy in 2019 and shared the story of hunger and food insecurity in Athens County.
Bright’s Girl Scout credentials include six years as a girl member. She has been an adult member since 2001, including many roles. Bright has assisted in council rechartering work and is currently assisting with advocacy work at the state legislative level. She is a proud Life Member along with her daughter Erin. She also serves as the job interview coach and public speaking coach for Alexander FFA and is also a life member of the Alexander FFA Alumni. Active in her church, she serves as treasurer and has held other leadership roles including board chair. Bright served for 10 years on the Ohio Farm Bureau State Board and is passionate about advocacy for agriculture, hunger and food insecurity solutions, as well as rural issues and concerns that impact our beloved Appalachian region. A graduate of Ohio University’s College of Business with a degree in marketing, she also attended Hocking College working on dual associate degrees in business and financial management. She lives in Athens with her husband David and has two grown children, Michael and Erin.
Becky Conrad's commitment to community service in West Virginia began with three impactful terms as an AmeriCorps VISTA, sparking her passion for nonprofit work. She has nearly a decade of leadership experience at Mountaineer Food Bank, where she has been pivotal in efforts to eradicate hunger and expand program impact across the state. Becky's roles have spanned from grant writing to foundation relations, each underpinned by her drive to secure vital funding and foster community engagement.
In addition to her professional endeavors, Becky has made significant contributions to the Landmark Studio for the Arts, serving as Vice President and Director of LYTE (Landmark Youth Theatre Ensemble). Her involvement extends to her role as President of the Sutton Community Development Corporation and as Chair of both the WVU Extension Service Committee and the Sutton Fall Festival, demonstrating her broad influence on community growth and sustainability.
Becky and her husband contribute to their community's economic and social fabric through their business, The Braxton Bistro. As a devoted mother of three and a proud grandmother, family remains her cornerstone. Becky’s deep-rooted belief in collective effort continues to drive her commitment to making a lasting impact on her community and beyond.
Terri Dodrill is a Commercial Lines Producer and Assistant Agency Manager with McGriff in Charleston, WV. She has over 30 years in the insurance industry and brings expertise to clients through consultative service and risk management strategies. She began her career in the insurance industry as an Associate Agent while attending Marshall University and after graduating from Marshall University (’93), she changed paths within the industry and began working within the field claims department. Terri is an active member on the Boards of Directors for both the Independent Insurance Agents of WV/Big I WV, Highland Clarksburg Hospital, and previously Habitat for Humanity of Kanawha & Putnam Counties. She is the State National Director for Big I and serves on the Large Agent and Broker and Government Affairs Committee. She is very active in her church, St. John UMC in Teays Valley.
She is a lifelong supporter of the Girl Scouts, Red Cross, United Way, as well as many other non-profit organizations. Having grown up in Southern WV and having had experienced the positive impact of being a Girl Scout, she’s developed a passion for community service and is fierce supporter and advocate for young females in our communities. Terri lives in Hurricane, WV, with her husband, Jim. Together they have three children: Lauren (Chris), Cara (Matt) and Kyle (Cassidy); four granddaughters: Isabella, Brynna, Vivian and Gemma; and two grandsons: Brooks and Baylor.
Stacey Fragile, J.D., is a 1996 graduate of WVU Tech where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Relations and Human Resources, an Associate of Arts degree in General Studies, and minors in Economics and Sociology. She graduated from the West Virginia University College of Law in 2000 and was admitted to the practice of law in West Virginia that same year. Fragile is the Chief Public Defender for the 14th Judicial Circuit of West Virginia in Beckley.
Fragile is a lifetime member of Girl Scouts and has served as a troop leader for all levels of Girl Scouts in addition to being an active member of the Raleigh County Service Unit. She also currently serves as the Secretary for the Tech Golden Bear Alumni Association (TGBAA) and has previously served as both President of the Association and Vice President of Chapter Development. In addition to her work for the TGBAA, Fragile is a current member of the Indigent Defense Commission for the State of West Virginia, having been first appointed by Governor James C. Justice II, in August 2020. Additionally, she is a member of Quota Club.
Originally from Whitesville, West Virginia, she currently resides in Daniels, WV and is married to Matthew Fragile, and they are the proud parents of Daniella and Alessandra.
Larry Malone is the owner of Malone Consulting Services, which provides clients with strategic marketing, communications, public relations, issue management and policy development services.
Malone has an extensive background in workforce, education, economic development, STEM, health care, energy, broadband and transportation matters. He has held a number of leadership roles both in the private sector and the public sector and with non-profit organizations. He served as Policy Director for former Governor Earl Ray Tomblin and was an elected member of the Charleston City Council from 1995-1999.
Malone lives in Charleston W.Va. and has a B.S. in Journalism from West Virginia University.
Michael Torreyson is employed by Lument Real Estate Capital as a Deputy Chief Underwriter for the FHA Lending Group. Mr. Torreyson has over 20 years of FHA Multifamily Housing experience, completing over $2 Billion in FHA transactions, mostly involving affordable housing transactions.
Prior to working with a FHA lender, Torreyson spent 10 years at HUD, with two years at HUD Headquarters followed by 8 years at the Charleston WV HUD Field Office. Torreyson has a strong background in the various HUD multifamily programs. Mr. Torreyson received a Master’s Degree from Arizona State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Political Science from Salisbury University.
Torreyson has been involved with Girl Scouts over the past two years as a cookie chair and upcoming troop co-leader. Mr. Torreyson has also been involved with 4H, two different elementary school PTO organizations and the University of Kentucky Parent Advisory Council. Torreyson lives in Scott Depot with his wife, daughter Shayna (University of Kentucky Freshman), son Tyler (Hurricane High School) and daughter Lily (Mountain View Elementary).
Upson is the Executive Director of the Herbert Henderson Office of Minority Affairs (HHOMA). She was appointed to this cabinet-level position in December 2018 after serving for four years as a legislator in the West Virginia House of Delegates. The busy director is also the Executive Director of the West Virginia Women’s Commission. She received her appointment to this position in September 2022. Upson also serves as Chair of the Martin Luther King, Jr. State Holiday Commission.
Having been elected twice to the West Virginia House of Delegates, Upson served as Vice Chair of Banking, in addition to serving on various committees, caucuses, and commissions. Director Upson is an original member of the HOPE Scholarship Board, and also a member of the West Virginia Women’s Suffragist Memorial Committee. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Upson formed and Chaired the COVID-19 Advisory Commission on Racial Disparities. She also successfully spearheaded all weekly minority COVID-19 testing sites in multiple locations throughout the state during the height of the pandemic. Outside of state government, Upson serves on the board of directors at Burke & Herbert Financial Services Corp. In addition to serving on the board of directors at Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council, she is also a longtime member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and a regular volunteer at her home church, Crossroads Church in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
Upson has an MBA in Public Administration from Liberty University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Shepherd University. She is currently a doctoral candidate (Ph.D. ABD) in Public Policy: Education Policy. She is married to retired Navy Commander, Kelvin Upson, who is currently a senior cyber security engineer for a large defense contractor and 24-year professor at the University of Phoenix in the Cyber Security program. She is also the mother of DJ and Chandler. The family has a miniature poodle, Tiki (17), tabby cat, Bigly (10), and ball python, Zeus (19).
Jennifer Vieweg is Director of Strategic Initiatives and Corporate Citizenship at Greylock Energy, where she is responsible for developing and executing public and community relations strategies and outreach efforts; managing internal and external messaging and engagement; leading professional and leadership development and spearheading the company’s corporate-social responsibility initiatives.
Her career comprises nearly 12 years with Charles Ryan Associates, a Charleston, W.Va.-based strategic communications firm, where she served as Vice President of Client Service. During her tenure, Vieweg headed account teams for a wide variety of clients in energy, manufacturing, chemicals, insurance, banking, tourism, and many other industries.
Vieweg holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications: Advertising from Florida State University, a Master of Arts degree in Communication Studies: Organizational Communication from Marshall University and a Doctorate of Executive Leadership from the University of Charleston.
She is an adjunct professor with Wake Forest University and has also taught at the University of Charleston. Vieweg is past-president of the board for the YWCA-Charleston, where she led strategic planning efforts and the CEO Search Committee. She is also a member of the executive board for the Chemical Alliance Zone, is communications vice-chair for the Gas & Oil Association of WV (GO-WV), a member of the board for the Marcellus Shale Coalition, and a long-time member of the Charleston Area Alliance’s Community Relations Team. She served as chapter co-chair for Women for Economic and Leadership Development-Charleston and as a member of the PIOGA board, the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk Executive Leadership Team, and the Education Elevators board of directors.
Linda Wigal is the Regional Vice President of Sales for Highmark, which serves approximately 236,279 members through the company’s health care benefits business as well as a comparable number of additional members through the national BlueCard® program. Based in Parkersburg, Wigal is responsible for all West Virginia sales and client management functions including the Federal Employee Program. Wigal has been with Highmark for 38 years. Prior to becoming Vice President, Wigal served in a number of roles where she was responsible for government accounts and business strategy development. Wigal holds a bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University. She is a class of 2023 Sharp Shooter and a graduate of the 2011 Leadership WV class. Linda serves on the Board of the Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council, the Board of the American Red Cross of Central Appalachia Region and the WVU Medicine Camden-Clark Board of Trustees.
Wigal earned a First Class Award in Girl Scouting in 1980. Linda has one daughter, Mackenzie, who is an attorney in Greenville, SC.
Jessica Wintz-Adams has been calling Charleston home for 14 years. She is a 2010 graduate of Marshall University where, as a first-generation college student, she obtained two bachelor’s degrees in public relations and in political science. Wintz-Adams’ career has spanned across local and state government where she has served as an assistant to Former First Lady Gayle Manchin and is currently the Assistant to the City Manager for the City of Charleston. Previously, Wintz-Adams was an account manager and lobbyist for Orion Strategies where she worked and represented a number of clients in the nonprofit, natural gas and healthcare industries. She also served as a program director at The Education Alliance with a focus on career readiness mentoring programs for public school students and other education programs.
In her community, Wintz-Adams has served on committees for Charleston Urban Works and for the YWCA Girl’s Night Out. She was recognized by Governor Earl Ray Tomblin as Volunteer of the Year for Charleston Urban Works at the Governor’s Awards in 2016 and also served as a board member for the Marshall University Alumni Association from 2017-2021. She is an active member of the Junior League, Charleston, WV chapter.
She lives in Charleston with her husband, Steven, and their cat, Belle, and their dog, Penny.
