Whether you’re discovering the wildlife in your own backyard, swimming in a lake for the first time at summer camp or being a citizen scientist and observing bees in your neighborhood park, every outdoor adventure grows your “I’ve got this” attitude. And once you unlock that confidence, you’ll aim as high as the stars you see outside your cabin window.
During spring break and all summer long, we offer day camps for girls K-5 at the Girl Zone in Charleston, WV. These camps are led by full-time staff, seasonal camp counselors and volunteers. Love messy, crazy art projects? Are you a girly girl? Super into science and mystery? You won’t want to miss out on the adventures at our day camps. Check our events page to see what we're offering this year!
Looking for a camp close to home? Volunteers from all around the council come together every year to design camps in just about every community. Have fun, make new friends, experience new things, and try to avoid the bugs with one of our Service Unit Day Camps.
When we’re really having fun with our friends, sometimes it’s hard to say goodbye and wait a whole night to see them again. With Weekend Camps, you don’t have to wait! Zipline, horseback ride, even travel in a TARDIS at our Doctor Who Camp.
Even with all of the amazing camps we offer, maybe your troop wants to plan their very own camping opportunity. The first step is to make sure your leader has completed our Camping In Self Study and has also taken a weekend training course. As you’re thinking about where you’d like to go and what you would like to do, make sure you look through our Safety Activity Checkpoints. Once everyone is trained and your trip is planned, submit a tripping application.
Canoeing solo across a lake. Learning to canter on a horse. Counting stars in the night sky.
These are just a few of the experiences awaiting Girl Scouts who are ready to explore the great outdoors. Camp and outdoor experiences can be enjoyed during summer camp, day camp, or year-round.
Take part in this annual celebration where Girl Scouts come together to explore their local state parks.
