CRAIGSVILLE, WEST VIRGINIA—A Craigsville volunteer was recently recognized for her service to Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council.
Girl Scouts troop leader Kristina Ward was nominated by her peers and honored as a recipient of the Thanks Badge II at the GSBDC Annual Meeting on April 29 at Parchment Valley Conference Center in Ripley, West Virginia.
The Thanks Badge II honors previous Thanks Badge award recipients who have continued to provide exemplary service in a leadership role which resulted in a measurable impact benefiting the entire Girl Scout Movement. Volunteers must be a registered Girl Scout adult and continue to have a role in contributing to the goals of the council in the areas of Program, Membership, Fund Development, and Volunteer Support.
"Creative, dedicated, and passionate - these are just a few words used to describe this volunteer," GSBDC Senior Director of Member Services Becky pack said of Ward. "Her passion for Girl Scouts has extended to multiple leadership roles in her service unit, as well as serving the girls across her community through various programming events and the Girl Scouts of Black Diamond’s Cookie Sale. She has sat on numerous committees for council to offer her advice as a volunteer who is in the trenches and is always willing to step in to make the changes happen. Her innovative spirit has led to troop growth within the service unit, programming events that the girls are excited to attend, and a drive to keep the mission alive. This desire, along with her wisdom and knowledge, has earned the respect of any council member that has had the honor of working with her on different aspects of our council’s success. She embodies our Girl Scout Promise and Law every day and continuously strives to give the ultimate Girl Scout experience."
