OAK HILL, W. VA.—Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council is proud to announce that Joy Davis has been awarded the Appreciation Pin, a national Girl Scouts volunteer award that recognizes exceptional service supporting the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) within a specific geographic area.
The Appreciation Pin is presented to registered Girl Scout adults who have made a significant impact in areas such as membership development, volunteer support and increased community visibility—all while exemplifying inclusive leadership and the values of Girl Scouting.
Davis has been instrumental in creating meaningful experiences for Girl Scouts in her local service unit. She has played a key role in training and mentoring new troop leaders, offering support and guidance through everything from troop activities to product sales.
For many years, she has gone above and beyond to provide enriching camping opportunities—ensuring that girls in her community continue to grow, connect and thrive in the outdoors.
Even through challenges and setbacks, Davis has remained a consistent source of support and joy for the girls she serves, embodying the enduring spirit of the Girl Scout sisterhood.
“Joy Davis has made an incredible difference in the lives of both girls and volunteers,” said Beth Casey, Chief Executive Officer of Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council. “Her commitment to mentorship, community and the Girl Scout mission is what makes this award so well-deserved.”
Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council is proud to recognize Davis’s service and thanks her for her continued dedication to the movement.
