PARKERSBURG, W. VA.—Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council is proud to announce that Emmalene Westbrook has been awarded the Appreciation Pin, a national Girl Scouts volunteer award recognizing exceptional service that has significantly contributed to the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) within a specific geographic area.
This recognition is awarded to registered adult Girl Scout volunteers who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to the organization’s mission through community visibility, program development and volunteer leadership—all while modeling the values of inclusion and service.
Westbrook is a shining example of what it means to lead with purpose. She consistently goes above and beyond to help Girl Scouts in her area understand the value of giving back, organizing service opportunities and experiences that leave a lasting impact.
From field trips and badgework to journeys and local events, she creates enriching, hands-on programs that empower girls to grow with confidence and compassion.
Recognizing a further need in her community, Westbrook also stepped into the role of Service Unit Treasurer, where her dedication, transparency and leadership have made a measurable difference. Her passion for Girl Scouts is evident in every role she takes on—and her efforts continue to inspire others to lead with heart.
“Emmalene Westbrook is a true leader and role model,” said Beth Casey, Chief Executive Officer of Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council. “Her commitment to the Girl Scout mission and her drive to make a difference in girls’ lives are what make her so deserving of the Appreciation Pin.”
Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council congratulates Westbrook on this well-earned recognition and thanks her for her continued service to girls, volunteers, and her community.
