For each troop there is a team of one troop leader and one or more assistant leaders, along with other volunteers who will help the troop run as smoothly and efficiently as possible. Troop leaders work directly with a group of girls and mentor them as they make new friends and build courage, confidence and character to make the world a better place. The Leader also helps them develop leadership skills on an individual and/or group basis. The troop leader is responsible for organizing and delegating the adult volunteers and overseeing troop management. The Troop Leader should have the enthusiasm and ability to inspire girls’ interests and curiosity about ways to incorporate the Three Keys to Leadership: Discover themselves, Connect with others, and Take Action to make the world a better place through the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE). You must have the ability to work as a volunteer team to achieve your troop goals, and along the way, you will be inspiring girls to be the best they can be. This position requires a current membership every year and an approved criminal background check every 3 years. This position must also be appointed/re-appointed by a Black Diamond Membership staff member.
