Outdoor Weekend Leadership Skills (OWLS) 2026 is an immersive training and fellowship weekend designed especially for Girl Scout adult volunteers who want to grow their outdoor leadership confidence, skills, and certifications while enjoying camp community and fun.

This hands-on weekend offers a wide variety of training options allowing participants to build skills at their own pace. Course choices include:
Archery, First Aid/CPR, Navigation & Orienteering, Fire Building & Outdoor Cooking, Basic Hiking, Intro to Backpacking, Camping Out Activity Specialist, Train-the-Trainer and self-guided stations featuring crafts and basic knots.

The weekend begins Friday evening with registration, camp ceremonies, and a social hour campfire. Saturday is packed with learning sessions, outdoor skill development, and shared meals in the dining hall. Participants choose sessions that fit their interests and goals, making each OWLS experience unique. Saturday evening includes continued programming and an overnight camping option for those completing Camping Out Activity Specialist training. Sunday wraps up with additional sessions and lunch to-go.

OWLS is ideal for both new and experienced volunteers looking to expand their outdoor credentials, learn from skilled instructors, and connect with fellow Girl Scout leaders from across the council.
