GIRLForce: Trailblazer Training Camp is an advanced outdoor
leadership experience for Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador Girl Scouts,
and their adult chaperones, ready to take their adventures to the next
level. This extended weekend training camp focuses on safety,
preparedness, and survival skills essential for high-adventure
camping, backpacking, and outdoor exploration.
On
Wednesday, July 29, participants will have the opportunity to earn
First Aid/CPR certification, if needed. On Thursday, July 30, and
Friday, July 31, Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts and adult
volunteers ages 14 and older may earn their Wilderness First Aid
certification. Cadette Girl Scouts will participate in concurrent
wilderness medical training, building advanced skills and knowledge,
though they are not eligible for certification.
Girl
Scouts will spend the week working with a community partner and adult
volunteer outdoor trainers to hands-on outdoor survival skills
training, including techniques designed for more challenging and
remote outdoor environments. There will also be archery training at
this event. GIRLForce: Trailblazer equips Girl Scouts with the
confidence, skills, and leadership needed to safely push their limits
and blaze new trails in the outdoors. Evening events include
trailblazer crafts, campfires, and relaxing time to unwind and reflect
on the skills gained during the day.
