Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council invites members of the community to help support a space just for girls: The Anne McCuskey Girl Zone at the Girl Scout and Volunteer Resource Center.
Anne McCuskey enriched the lives and empowered so many people
in
our community and our state. A second-generation Girl Scout,
Anne
inspired generations of girls to “find their spark” and
make the world a
better place.
Under Anne's leadership, Girl Scouts of Black Diamond transformed
an
underused corner of Charleston, West Virginia into the Girl
Zone - a
thriving youth center and the headquarters of the
Council. The space
now houses dozens of summer day camps,
get-togethers, and overnight
stays, providing girls with
opportunities to build their self-esteem,
leadership skills, and
confidence. It is a safe, fun space for girls to learn,
play,
and be themselves - an important resource Anne championed for
the community and for West Virginia girls.
Please join Girl Scouts of Black Diamond and the McCuskey Family in honoring and remembering Anne for the inspiring and dedicated community leader she was.
