Director of Research and Evaluation
Michelle Parsons is the Director of Research and Evaluation for Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council and is based at the girl and adult resource center in Charleston, WV. Michelle is responsible for leading and supporting research and evaluation activities across all council functions, with particular emphasis on measuring and assessing the impact of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience within the council’s jurisdiction. She also oversees and manages the research, writing and submission of foundation and United Way proposals to best provide financial resources for the council’s strategic goals.
She is a graduate of WVU with a BS in Recreation and Parks Management. She has over 10 years of experience in nonprofit management and grant writing. Michelle joined the Black Diamond Council in June 2012. This followed a 11 year career with The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club of Charleston.
Michelle enjoys spending her free time with her husband and two children, as well as traveling, hiking, boating and camping.
