Richard Renick

Director of Information Technology
Richard Renick is the Director of Information Technology for the Girls Scouts of Black Diamond Council and is based in Charleston office.  Richard’s primary function is to keep the council’s servers, computers and VOIP phone system operational while supporting the technology needs of his co-workers. Richard also has developed custom software for use at the council and has had a hand in the council website.

Richard has a BS in Computer Science and over 23 years of experience in computer and network support, graphics design, page layout, web page development and programming. He has been with the council since October 2009. Prior to joining GSBDC, Richard worked at CCV Software an educational software reseller for nearly 15 years.

In his spare time Richard likes to run, play his silly computer, Xbox and Android smartphone games. Richard also enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife, several children and 3 cats!

Julie Morgado

CES/Business Processes Manager
Julie Morgado is the CES (Council Enterprise System)/Business Processes Manager for Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council and is based in the council Service Center in Charleston, WV.  She oversees all activities involved in the management of membership registration and membership data, events and training registration including online registration and processing and entry of volunteer information.   She leads the CES team consisting of two Data Services Representatives and the Customer Data Specialist. She also advises on and implements business processes within the organization and manages the Help Desk technical assistance team for online registration.  Julie also supports the Service Unit Data Representatives in their local positions. 

She has a BA in Communications with an emphasis in Journalism/Public Relations.  She has over 12 years’ experience working in the nonprofit sector and has been with the council since 2007.  Julie is a Lifetime member who first joined Girl Scouts as a Brownie in 1977.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family including her two teenage kids, Sophie and Michael, and four dogs.  Julie loves to travel and had the amazing opportunity to lead a group of six Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts on a European tour of Italy, Switzerland and France in 2011.  She also enjoys running and reading and is a huge sports fan.  She especially enjoys cheering on the Mountaineer football and basketball teams!

Glen Gibbs

Customer Data Specialist
Glen Gibbs is the Customer Data Specialist for Girl Scouts of Black Diamond. Glen is responsible for the management and data integrity of our membership database, as well as, reporting on membership growth and retention.

Glen earned his BA in Communication at the University of California, San Marcos. His passion for pursuing a career path with a focus on community development began with a college internship providing freelance videography for local charity and government events. He joined Girls Scouts Black Diamond in 2012, shortly after moving to West Virginia to be closer to his family.

In his free time, Glen enjoys playing guitar, reading, and being walked by his dogs.

Sandie Burdette

Data Services Representative
Sandie Burdette is the Data Services Representative for Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council and is based out of the Charleston, WV Service Center. Sandie has been with Black Diamond since 2000.

Sandie’s primary function at the council is to make sure all data is entered into the system for events, training and camp rental. Sandie also is the shop relief person, which gives her a chance to meet people whom she has only talked with on the phone.

In Sandie’s spare time she likes to spend time with family, read or just relax with a good movie.

Vanessa White

Data Services Representative
Vanessa White is the Data Services Representative at Girl Scouts of Black Diamond in Charleston West Virginia.  Her primary job is to enter all membership registrations along with Volunteer Applications.  Vanessa has been with Girl Scouts since 2010.  Prior to Girl Scout she was employed with United Dairy Corporation where she worked in the accounts receivables department.  

Vanessa’s hobbies include singing and shopping and she loves spending time with her husband and children.  One of things she also enjoys is lifting the spirits of others by speaking a kind word or simply giving a smile.

Sue Hawkinberry

Part-Time Receptionist
Sue Hawkinberry is the Part-Time Receptionist for Girl Scout of Black Diamond and is located at the council headquarters in Charleston, WV.  Sue’s primary function is to answer and forward calls as well as greet visitors to the headquarters building.  She also, on occasion backs up in the Council Shop and provides various clerical support to others at the headquarters building.

She retired from Verizon with 35 ½ years’ service and started part-time with Black Diamond Council October 2011.

Sue spends spare time working in her garden, trying her hand at a little jewelry making, reading, and being semi-retired.
