Beth Casey

Chief Executive Officer
Beth Casey is Chief Executive Officer for Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council. The council brings leadership development opportunities to girls in grades K-12 and volunteers across 61 counties in West Virginia, Ohio, Virginia and Maryland.

She has a BA in Industrial Relations from the University of North Carolina and a certificate in non-profit management from Duke University.  While she has been with Black Diamond for 5 years, she has worked for Girl Scouts for 21 years.  Beth started in Girl Scouts as a program specialist supervising resident camp programs.
 
Beth is married to Michael Casey and they have two children, Matthew and Hannah.  Everyone in the family is involved in Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts and Hannah is a 4th generation Girl Scout.  Beth enjoys making jewelry, scrapbooking, and traveling to see family and friends.

Jessica Richards

Chief Operating Officer
Jess Richards is the Chief Operating Officer at Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council and is based in Charleston.  Jess works with the membership, program, volunteerism, and communications/marketing teams to provide great Girl Scouting experiences for girls.

With a BA degree in Recreational Leadership with an emphasis in education from Alderson Broaddus Jess brings 10 years of experience working with youth serving organizations. She joined the council in 2004 as an Adult Education Specialist and in 2006 she became the Director of Membership and Marketing.  In 2009 she rejoined the volunteerism department as the Director of Volunteerism.

Jess is an advocate for community volunteerism. She has volunteered as a varsity volleyball coach at Huntington High School and actively supports the Cross Lanes YMCA, Point Harmony Elementary and Cross Lanes/Nitro Tee Ball league as a parent volunteer.

Outside of Girl Scouts, Jess enjoys time with her beautiful family; Brian, Landon and Alaina. Currently, she is spearheading operation “get fit” and stays active by playing volleyball and disc golf as well as training to run a 5K. Anyone who knows Jess might describe her as team oriented, fun and a dreamer.  She hopes to one day write a children’s book, be a professional photographer and own a bed and breakfast on Chincoteague Island in Virginia.

Jess’ favorite Girl Scout memory is of Troop Europe 2009 when she had the opportunity to travel with over 40 teen girls and 6 adults to London, England and Paris, France.

Diane Murphy

Executive Assistant
Diane Murphy is the Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer for Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council and is based out of the Charleston, WV Service Center.  Diane’s primary functions at the council include providing high-level administrative support to the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors, overseeing payroll processing, and providing administrative support for fund development.

She has an associate degree in computer programming and over 30 years of experience in managerial and secretarial support.  She has been with the council since 1984.  Prior to joining GSBDC, Diane was in the Navy, worked at a chemical plant in Memphis, TN, and owned a restaurant in Linden, TN.

In her spare time, Diane enjoys bowling and overnights with her grandchildren.

Cindy Moffatt

Administrative Assistant

Cindy Moffatt currently serves as the Operations Team Administrative Assistant providing support for membership, volunteer services, program, communications and the Chief Operating Officer.  She is crucial in providing support for GSBDC’s outcomes surveying process and is relied upon by many team members.

Cindy has been employed by Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council since 2007 and holds 23 years of administrative experience; she is located in the Charleston, WV service center.

In her free time, Cindy enjoys reading, making jewelry and photography.  You can also find her cheering on her favorite hunks on Dancing with the Stars and attending as many Bon Jovi concerts as possible!

Mia Ross-Dorsey

Program Department, Administrative Assistant
Mia Ross-Dorsey is the Administrative Assistant for the Operations Team. She provides support to many different departments at the Charleston office such as membership, volunteer services, program, communications services, reception, the shop team as well as the Chief Operating Officer.

Although Mia is new to the Girl Scouts of Black Diamond, she brings with her over 18 years of experience in administrative support and customer service.

Mia stays busy when she isn’t working for the Girl Scouts by hosting trivia for Team Trivia WV and working part-time at Sam’s Uptown CafĂ©. In her spare time she enjoys photography, cooking, bird watching, reading, music/singing, and spending time with her family/friends and her two dogs.
