A Resource for Girl Scout Volunteers

Girl Scouting provides activities that allow girls to develop through experiential learning—whether they're planning a ceremony, exploring a park, working in a team, leading others in song, creating an image on a computer, or helping others in a service project. Guidelines for conducting safe Girl Scout program activities can be found in Volunteer Essentials and the Safety Activity Checkpoints.

Activities in Girl Scouting are based on girls' interests and planned by girls and adults in partnership. Activities for all grade-levels can be found in a wide range of Girl Scout books and resources, including on the internet. Girl Scouts can also develop activities that tap into community resources.

This section contains some basic pointers for doing activities, as well as specific activities that can be used for different grade-levels. Check back throughout the year, as new tips and ideas are added.
