Communications Liaison

News and Support

As a Communications Liaison, you will be the girl (or guy!) in the know! The council’s Internal Communications Manager will be constantly communicating up-to-date council news and details on events, programs and trainings in the local area. It will be your job to spread that knowledge throughout the local area through many different methods. You may choose to distribute information through social media, by creating a local area newsletter, through email or even texting. The possibilities are really endless!
The Communication Liaison coordinates and distributes all internal communication on a local level.  This responsibility includes recording important meetings, distributing newsletters, social media management (facebook messaging and updates) email blasts, texts, etc.  The Communication Liaison will serve as a resource for GSBDC to provide information so that it will be distributed accurately and in a timely manner to local volunteers, leaders, and girls. The key components of the communications liaisons role:
  • Managing local leadership team communications, including recording official local area leam meeting minutes & corresponding details to the local area members
  • Be a liaison and support between GSBDC and local area volunteers, parents, and girls
  • Provide pertinent information to local area members via several mediums including but not limited to: Facebook, Email, Newsletters
The Communications Liaison receives additional support, guidance, and encouragement from the Internal Communications Manager and Membership Services Manager. She/he will have access to relevant learning opportunities and materials and will undergo the training/learning and orientation to Girl Scouting that will enhance her/his knowledge and confidence to work successfully with other adults and will enrich her/his Girl Scout experience.
