Feld Entertainment
-
Feld Entertainment presents various productions on ice at the WesBAnco Arena in Wheeling, WV. Girl Scouts are able to observe a travelling show that took an average of 3500 hours of labor to hand carve and paint the props for the production. Girl Scouts are able to observe skaters spinning at more than 300 RPMs (Rotations per Minute) during airborne jumps. This is physics in action. The girls will see and hear music that is synched by computers within 1/30 of a second with more than 100 sound effects in the queue. Feld Entertainment provides the opportunity to see the creative arts of science through their discounted tickets. Please watch for e-communications to receive notices on discounted Girl Scout ticketing to their ice programs.

Girl Coders Program Partner
-
Girl Coders was created by a Gold Award Girl Scout Caroline Zeng, and is a nonprofit organization that combats the gender gap by offering entry-level coding workshops to encourage young girls to experience STEM in positive, empowering ways. We encourages troop leaders to host coding workshops for Girl Scouts, and we offer free patch to the girls after they complete the workshop as a physical reminder of her accomplishment in completing a coding education program.
Learning by Doing: Girl coding workshop provides girls hand-on activities. Girls will learn to code, and code to learn. There are a variety of patches available to Girl Scouts of all grade levels. Check out https://girlcoders.net/ to learn more about hosting a troop workshop and earning fun badges.
