This kit is designed for Brownie Girl Scouts to aid in the understanding of science through fun, nature-inspired activities. The kit has two primary focuses: Understanding the ladybug and exploring science through various experiments and activities. Through the ladybug activities, girls will further develop their understanding of the insect world. The science experiments and activities offer creative teaching techniques for simple biological and chemical reactions. We hope this kit opens the door to science for many girls, and will encourage continued learning in this area. The kit contains most of the items necessary for the actitivities, such as measuring spoons and cups, hair dryer, glue, insect rubbing plates, The Grouchy Ladybug book, magnifying boxes and lens, insect information cards, hand puppet, and green felt leaf, in addition to other supplies (for a complete listing see below).
