Happy 100th Birthday Girl Scouts!
On March 12, 1912, Juliette Gordon Low founded the Girl Scouts of the USA. The Council’s celebration of our national organization’s 100th anniversary will be celebrated starting this fall with the new membership year and will continue throughout 2012. There’s something for everybody, so if you’re a Girl Scout or you were once a Girl Scout, love a Girl Scout, or just love a party—come join us as we celebrate our organization’s national birthday and make plans for the second century of Girl Scouting in this country.
From sea to shining sea, the nation’s Girl Scout Councils will be celebrating the 100th anniversary with parades, Jamborees, concerts, fairs, rallies, and more. Become part of history! Our centennial offers volunteers and girls, alike, the chance to shape the celebration and take action in ways to define our movement. Please consult with your local Girl Scout Leaders and Service Unit Administrators about plans to celebrate the 100th Anniversary. Check out the new edition of Centennial Times, an all encompasing newsletter crafted to keep you informed of all things 100th!
All registrations will be secured through a program called City Trax. Reserve lodging, event entry, excursion trips, transportation and refreshments all in one place! A follow up registration packet will be mailed upon confirmation. This packet will include your customized schedule for the weekend and your special event t-shirt! Wear your t-shirt on Saturday to gain access to special activities and to help the Girl Scouts Paint the Town Green!
Early bird registration runs from January 1 through February 29th and begins at $25 per person and includes access to select street fair activities, vendor hall, Girl Zones, Club 100, Girl Scout Parade, Opening & Closing ceremonies, Sing-A-Long, Teresa Concert, Scouts Own Ceremony, Diversity/Faith Walk and an event t-shirt souvenir. On March 1, registration will increase to $35 per person and will include all of the same amenities.
Additional fees will apply to attend the Alumnae Tea, the adult-only Party of the Century and off-site excursions.
