Counselor-In-Training I Course
LOVE going to Girl Scout camp? Here’s your opportunity to share that passion and be a role model to younger Girl Scouts. Through the Counselor-In-Training (CIT) course, develop skills to become an inspiring leader at camp. Learn to teach songs, lead activities and create a safe and inviting space for Girl Scouts to grow their love of camp. CITs are needed for Service Unit Camps, the Girl Scout Jamboree at the Summit and other council camps.
Finish your award requirements by completing a 50-hour camp pathway project. This involves shadowing adult camp staff, learning what it takes to plan and pull off a camp and working with younger campers in a leadership role. This could lead to future summer camp employment during your college year and add a new layer of camp memories!
Note: Adults must be current Girl Scout members and have a successful background check on file with Black Diamond Council. Fee: $25/girl; No cost for chaperoning adults; Event is limited to Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors only.
Date not convenient for you? Then gather up 5-6 of other interested friends and we will set up the CIT course in your local community. Contact Kathy Storage, Camp and Travel Manager, via email at email@example.com
