Council-wide Service Project
As Girl Scouts we strive to ‘help people at all times’ and ‘make the world a better place. The Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council Community Service Project empowers Girls Scouts to make their world a better place by giving back. Community service is an important element of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and girls are given opportunities to work as individuals or as a member of a troop or group. Through community services, girls learn a sense of responsibility; one person can make a difference, sacrifice, respect for self and others, job skills, and time management. Community service also allows the girls to connect, discover and take action, while improving the lives of others.
Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council is proud to announce its 2018 Council-wide Service Project, Kits for Kindness. From February 2018 to January 2019, girls will have the opportunity to make and deliver Kits of Kindness to their organization of choice. Several options are provided in the packet to serve as a guide. Have the girls review the options, vote and develop the kits. When decorating the kit, be practical, but don’t forget to add a little bit of G.I.R.L. magic.
Through community service projects, you have the power to create change in your world by using the skills you learned through the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.
