Safety-Wise & Safety Activity Checkpoints
In the past, we’ve kept girls safe by consulting Safety-Wise when planning outings and activities. New for 2010, general information once found in Safety-Wise will be found in the Safety-Wise section of Volunteer Essentials AND we have all new Safety Activity Checkpoints available here. These 45 checkpoints replace the ones that have existed in Safety-Wise for several decades. Volunteers will no longer have to read introductory material, Universal Checkpoints, checkpoints for the category of the activity (land sports, water sports, and so on), and activity specific checkpoints – eight or nine pages of material spread out over several sections. Instead, you can read, search, and print completely self-contained checkpoints, each four pages or less all here online in this interactive PDF format! You can throw out your old printed Safety-Wise book. Volunteers receive their copy of Volunteer Essentials (which will contain general safety information and program standards found in the old Safety-Wise) in the Volunteer Resource Packet provided to volunteers in late summer.

GSUSA Orientation
The new GSUSA Orientation has made its debut! All volunteers, new and returning should take the time to complete the new online version of GSUSA Orientation (password discover). E-mail the completed Learning Log to jessica.richards@bdgsc.org.

2009-2010 Volunteer Resource Packet (Program Packet)
This August, the packet formerly known as the Program Packet got an extreme makeover. We hope volunteers who have received their copies of Volunteer Essentials, Council Essentials and the Troop Module are pleased with the newly formated resources provided. Check out the contents of the new packet!

Adult Recognitions

Adult Recognitions are an important part of Girl Scouting. Many volunteers work tirelessly to provide top notch opportunities for girls in our council. Learn how to recognize that special volunteer in your area.
